France, the country of love has always been known for its good taste in Fashion and is an important part of the country’s cultural life. They are leading the world in fashion design providing premium quality and designs ever since.
India has an ancient clothing design tradition, yet it has an emerging fashion industry because of the acceptance of western culture in the country. Fashion brands like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Lacoste and others have already established their customer base in the country. And it would be no surprise if the other major fashion brands try to penetrate the Indian markets in near future.
“India has a world of opportunities to offer to International brands, grabbing all the attention for good growth! As we progress in the market with baby steps, we see the business growing by leaps and bounds in time to come.”
~Ms. Stephanie Ertzbischoff, Brand Licensing Director, Marie Claire
Although kurta pajamas and sarees have been a part of Indian clothing tradition as far as we remember, this does not stop us from slaying the looks in maxi dresses and skirts with our Indian beauty. In this increasing world of globalisation, it is a pleasure to be a part of the western culture.
I got such an opportunity to attend the launch event of MARIE CLAIRE in India at Privee, Hotel Shangri-La, New Delhi. Every girl must have heard of this well-known and established French fashion brand, and will be glad to learn that their collection will soon be hitting the Indian markets, and would be available exclusively on Myntra. Marie Claire is designed for women around the world seeking a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ (English translation – ‘a quality that cannot be described or named easily’) that will style their life, all their life. The brand has been on the market since last 79 years through its monthly magazine. Today, it is a reputed global brand with 10,000 points of sales across the globe.
“Our retails presence would be well penetrated and significant in next 5years. Besides the established retail through e-commerce, multi-brand outlets and shop in shops, we should have significant exclusive brand outlets of Marie Claire in India, to boost our brand presence.”
~Ms. Stephanie Ertzbischoff, Brand Licensing Director, Marie Claire
The event was a star-studded affair featuring Shahnaz Husain, a prominent female entrepreneur, best known for her herbal skincare products. The stage was also graced by the presence of our stunning Miss India 2002 Neha Dhupia, who’s an actor and is herself a Style Diva. She shared some of her experiences and some of her style mantras with everyone. Events like these are always a good opportunity to interact and get to know the insight of a brand. They showcased their inaugural collection in florals, from corporate to casuals, catering to the needs of women between the age group of 20 to 40 years.
“We are happy to tie up with Marie Claire as their exclusive licensing partner for marketing and distribution in India. By 2020, we see Marie Claire as 3 choices among female consumers when they are looking for classy french styling, great quality, and perfect fit.”
~Mr. Amiteshwar Grover, Director of Epic Brands Pvt. Ltd.
END NOTE – Since I had some important work to catch up to, I missed out on devouring the delicious cupcakes at the end of the event. 😛 Hopefully, next time 😉

WHAT I WORE?
StalkBuyLove is one of the most loved online shopping portals in India. I kept it really simple for the launch event with my shirt dress which has definitely been trending this summer. I chose a mustard yellow color, which is soothing to the eyes (secret – I had my eyes rolling for this one for quite a while now. Ssshh!!) They have three more colors in the same dress, I guess! You can take up which so ever you want or suits you the best. The cloth is really soft and flowy, which makes it easier to wear in summers. This has just the perfect length making you give more decent and sophisticated look. I paired the dress with a brown sling matching with my pair of brown block heels (from Call It Spring) to get the blend of comfort and elegance. They have an amazing collection of footwears which I completely adore!
